Excellence in Quality Control

Elevate the quality of your construction projects with Quality Safety Times

Our goal is to provide contractors with trade-specific topics to reduce the cost of Construction Re-work.

Over the decades the construction industry has used the Weekly Safety Meetings to improve the safety of our projects.  Quality Safety Times has improved on the quality of these topics and introduced a “Quality Control Topic.”

Our Quality topics offer a trade-specific tool for foremen to discuss proper component installation with their crew as well as topics on trade specific loss prevention techniques such as public protection, load securement, fleet management working near other trades, working near operating systems, etc. They include reviews of Lessons Learned from others’ mistakes and discussion questions to help foremen address installation concerns specific to the current project.

Not Building it Right the First Time

Much research globally has focused on the cost of re-work in construction. Re-work is defined as “the unnecessary effort of redoing a process or activity that was incorrectly implemented in the first instance.” Studies have indicated a direct relationship between poor quality and higher incident/injury rates among craft/trade workers on projects (see link below to related research).

Our team comes from the construction industry; we understand the impact of re-work. We have gathered insights and lessons learned from industry experts to share and reduce the likelihood of similar incidents in the future.

When Contractors conduct weekly

Quality Meetings, they will:

  • Increase profitability from reduction of re-work by reducing overtime, and decreasing produce use.

  • Meet and exceed schedule requirements
  • Reduce conflict between General Contractors/Subcontractor, Manufacturers, and Owners
  • Improve relationships with insurance underwriters
  • Deliver quality-built projects; increasing future business opportunities

Our Solution

  • QST has employed the structure of the weekly safety tailgate meeting to create weekly quality control sharing of lessons learned
  • Through ongoing open communication and the sharing of lessons learned for quality, you will decrease potential for costly rework and schedule impacts
  • Enhanced trade-specific safety topics, and adding topic-specific discussion questions will increase trade engagement, knowledge retention
